Early Day

I did not realize how early it was until I got halfway to work this morning. I normally get out of bed at around 2:30 a.m. This morning when I rolled over to glance at the clock, I thought it said 2:34. So naturally, I drug myself out of bed. The next thing that typically happens is Jack meets me at the bedroom door. This time I had to whisper his name to get his attention. Another clue that led me to questioning everything was when I was driving on the highway. I noticed that there was an unusual amount of traffic this morning. At 3:30 a.m. there is typically very little traffic. But for some reason I attributed this morning's traffic to the upper end of the distribution bell curve and drove on. The next piece of valid information was Charles Stanley was not preaching on the radio. I normally listen to his sermon on my drive; however, this morning it was an unfamiliar preacher. I thought that maybe Charles was off today or that maybe they changed programming since October had just started. Networks are known to change programming at the beginning of a new month. My last hint that I was too early was when I looked at the clock in my vehicle. It read 1:14. I was stunned. I thought maybe the battery was starting to lose its charge and the clock reset when I got on the highway. Then it hit me! I put all the clues together and finally realized that it was in fact 1:14 and that I was going to work two hours early. I could have turned around and gone back home to sleep a few more hours but decided I would go ahead since I was almost to work. As I look back at the entire situation, I notice that it all went south when I failed to notice that there was a one in front of the two when I looked at the clock and thought it said 2:34. when in fact it was actually 12:34 a.m. I hope the rest of the day goes a little bit more like the usual.
